My name is Charlie Friedman, and I’m a 10th-grade student living in New York City. I play tennis, love to bake, and spend a lot of my time hanging out with friends and exploring everything the city has to offer. I’ve also developed a deep love for film — I enjoy watching and analyzing movies, especially how storytelling, cinematography, and music come together to create emotion and meaning. Outside the city, I love being outdoors, whether it’s sailing in the summer or skiing in the winter — both give me a sense of freedom and adventure that balances out my busy city life.

 

My love for Latin began completely by accident: I started taking it in 5th grade because it was required, but I quickly realized how fascinating it was. Over the years, Latin has become one of my favorite subjects, connecting my interests in language, history, and culture. Whether I’m out on the water, on the slopes, or watching a great film, I’m always looking to learn, create, and experience something new.
